120 mm fan mount for 10-inch racks

A 120mm fan mount for 10-inch rack systems with mounting space for electronics and a female USB type C plug.

This model is part of a series of 10-inch rack mounts I've designed. You can check out the others here.

Parts

• Female USB-C connector
• Any 120mm fan. I recommend the Noctua NF-F12 5V.
• Screws for the fan. You can use the same screws you'd use to put the fan in a computer case.
• If you get a 5V fan, you can connect it directly to USB power.

Optional

• 40mmx60mm perf board
• Any step-up converter (for 5V to 12V) ex.: XL6019
• M3 screws for the electronics board. Standoffs are optional.
• Some soldering skills :)
• If you have a 12V PSU to use directly with your fan, you can use it instead of converting from USB.

Install the fan as shown in the picture below, with the airflow in the honeycomb grid direction, for better performance and less noise. If you need to change the orientation, rotate the whole mount before installing it on your rack.
