A crooked witch’s hat takes on a life of its own in this Halloween display piece. A large, watchful eye peers from beneath its weathered folds, while pumpkins, curling vines, and abundant leaves spread across its sweeping brim. Its hooked tip and round pedestal complete a dark, whimsical sculpture with a distinctly mischievous presence.
Hexbrim once belonged to a witch who had a terrible habit of leaving her belongings behind. One autumn evening, tired of searching for her hat, she gave it a single eye and instructed it to find its own way home.
Unfortunately, she forgot to tell it when to stop watching.
Hexbrim soon discovered her secret pumpkin patch, her hidden spellbooks, and exactly where she kept the biscuits intended for visiting spirits. It learned magic by peering over her shoulder, growing vines around its brim and raising two pumpkins of its own.
When the witch eventually vanished on a journey beyond the harvest moon, Hexbrim settled upon her table to await her return.
Every Halloween, it prepares the cottage just as she liked it: fresh pumpkins at the door, vines around the windows, and something sweet for unexpected guests.
Then it turns its eye toward the entrance.
After all these years, it still remembers her footsteps.
