🖨️ Printing Instructions
If you don’t have a multi-color printer, simply set a pause at layer 11 in your slicer. When the printer pauses, change the filament to white and resume printing.
⚫ Start with black filament, then switch to white at layer 11.
🐢 Recommended Printing Speed
I recommend using a slower print speed — up to 100 mm/s — to help preserve all the small details and avoid printing issues.
🔥 PLA vs. PETG
I’ve printed all of my designs using both PLA and PETG, but I highly recommend PETG for keychains. If you accidentally leave your keys in a hot car, PLA can soften or deform due to high temperatures. PETG offers better heat resistance and is therefore a more suitable choice for everyday use.
💪 Infill Recommendation
For keychains intended for real-life, everyday use, I recommend setting the infill to 100%. Keychains can experience quite a bit of stress while being carried in a bag or pocket, so a solid print will help make them stronger and reduce the risk of breaking.
