"Good thing those bugs can't aim!" — Deploy the Grand Army of the Republic straight to your desktop!
This is a highly detailed, 3D-printable scale model of the iconic LAAT/i (Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry), famously known as the Republic Gunship from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and The Clone Wars. This model perfectly captures the rugged troop-transport design, featuring its sloped wings, dual chin-mounted laser turrets, twin top-mounted mass-driver cannons, and the distinctive open-air infantry bay.
This version has been specifically engineered for single-color printing. You don’t need an AMS, multi-material unit, or complex filament swapping systems to get an incredible result. Instead, the model utilizes deep, pronounced panel lines, mechanical hull detailing, and prominent cockpit framing that rely on natural shadows and highlights to make the features pop sharply. It has been tolerance-tested on Anycubic FDM printers (such as the Kobra, Vyper, or Mega series) to ensure clean layer execution across the wide, angled wingspan.
Model Features
- Anycubic Slicer Calibrated: Optimized to handle the retraction paths between the main fuselage, the wing-mounted ball turrets, and the tail fin without causing excessive stringing or blobs.
- Iconic Assault Silhouette: Captures the classic Clone Wars aesthetic, making it a perfect display piece or diorama addition for your gaming setup.
Recommended Print Settings
- Layer Height: 0.12mm to 0.16mm is highly recommended to cleanly capture the smooth sloped nose, the thin wing profiles, and the small cockpit bubbles.
- Infill: 10% - 15% (Gyroid or Grid provides excellent internal stability without adding unnecessary weight to the overhanging wings).
- Supports: Yes, supports are required under the main belly of the ship, the wings, and the front chin turrets. Tree/Organic supports configured in your preferred slicer (Anycubic Next, Cura, or PrusaSlicer) are highly recommended for clean, painless removal.
- Brim: A 5mm outer brim is recommended to keep the support structures and the narrow tail fin firmly stuck to your Anycubic print bed.
