The Cathedral Tear of Noctervale

Description

There is an old tale from the drowned province of Noctervale, where a cathedral once stood at the edge of a black lake. Its towers were so tall that their spires disappeared into the clouds, and when storms gathered above the valley, the rain was said to run down the stone walls like tears.

Then, one night, the cathedral vanished beneath the water.

Centuries later, travelers began finding strange droplets carved into the ruins along the shore — each one shaped like a falling tear, but filled with the delicate arches, pointed windows, and curling ornamentation of the lost cathedral itself. The most elaborate of them became known as The Cathedral Tear of Noctervale.

According to legend, the droplet contains the final memory of the sunken sanctuary. The gothic arches within it are not merely decoration, but fragments of the cathedral preserved inside the water that swallowed it. Every curve, pointed frame, and sweeping ornamental detail is said to mirror a part of the structure that once stood beneath the stormy sky.

Unlike the darker relics of Noctervale, this tear carries no creature, no imprisoned spirit, and no threatening face. Its presence is quieter — solemn, elegant, and almost sacred. It represents the moment when architecture, rain, and memory became one.

This gothic wall decoration combines the unmistakable silhouette of a water droplet with richly layered cathedral-inspired ornamentation. Tall pointed forms rise through the center like miniature gothic windows and spires, while flowing baroque details curl around the lower section, creating the impression of an entire forgotten sanctuary captured within a single suspended drop of rain.

From a distance, The Cathedral Tear of Noctervale appears as an elegant ornamental droplet. Up close, the intricate architectural details reveal something far more mysterious — a tiny fragment of a vanished gothic world, preserved as though the storm itself refused to let it disappear.

Hang it upon your wall as a relic of rain, stone, and forgotten beauty — a single drop carrying the memory of a cathedral that the world no longer remembers.
