At the place where Circlewood grows darkest, the roots of the ancient trees surround the ruins of a forgotten cathedral.

No bells ring in its tower, and no footsteps cross its silent halls. Yet every evening, when the final light passes through the stone rose window, a solitary guardian awakens.

His name is Vesper Rosewatch.

Upon his chest rests a window shaped from the memory of the old cathedral. Through it, Vesper can see the dreams that have lost their way in the forest. He gathers them gently beneath his wings and carries them back to those who have forgotten how to hope.

The crown above his eyes was not given by any king. It grew from his feathers on the night he chose to remain beside the abandoned sanctuary, promising that its last light would never be extinguished.

Travellers sometimes glimpse him among the shadows, standing silent upon his ornate pedestal. Vesper never speaks, but those who meet his gaze often find the answer they had been searching for.

He is not merely the guardian of a ruined cathedral.

He watches over every small light that refuses to disappear.
