Flying Fortunello – A Little Luck Takes Flight

Fortunello had always collected small wishes.

He found them tucked between the stones of garden walls, whispered beneath rose-covered arches, or left on windowsills after everyone had gone to sleep. A safe journey. A friend coming home. Something to smile about tomorrow.

He carried them through the old town on his little trotters, delivering whatever luck he could along the way.

Then, one evening, he found a wish that needed to travel farther than his feet could take him.

“Please let someone far away know they are loved.”

Fortunello looked beyond the rooftops. He had never left the town, and the world suddenly seemed very large. Still, he tucked the wish close to his heart and fell asleep beneath an ancient arch, determined to find a way.

By morning, the carved leaves around him had stirred. Their curling shapes traced his shoulders, and two feathered wings unfolded from his back. Beneath his chin, a little rose held the precious wish.

His first flight was rather wobbly. He startled a sparrow, narrowly missed a chimney, and discovered that landing required considerably more practice than taking off.

But somewhere beyond the hills, someone woke with the unexpected courage to write to a friend they missed.

Fortunello has been flying ever since.

With his gentle smile, sweeping wings, and flowing baroque ornament, he carries little wishes wherever they need to go. Hang him somewhere special, and perhaps he will remind you of someone worth sending a little love to.
