描述

From a static figure to a moving bobblehead — modified with Bouncy Buddy in our FlexySliceSTL software.

Back from the dead. Still nodding. Give this zombie a gentle nudge and watch its head bobble — a playful undead companion for your Halloween desk or shelf.

Made to move with FlexySliceSTL

We used FlexySliceSTL’s Bouncy Buddy mode to turn this character into a bobblehead with a 3D-printed spring. The spring is integrated into the front section; the back of the head and the back of the body are printed as separate pieces and glued into place. The movement comes from the printed spring — no metal spring is needed.

This figure shows what we used our software for: adding a moving head and preparing the split construction for printing and assembly.

Printing

The included Anycubic Slicer Next 3MF project is configured for Anycubic Kobra S1, a 0.4 mm nozzle and PLA, with a 0.20 mm layer height, 2 walls and 15% infill. It contains four configured PLA colour slots; map them to your own filaments before printing.

Supports are disabled in the supplied project. Keep all three pieces at the supplied scale and orientation. Rescaling also changes the spring geometry and can affect its movement and strength.

Brim is disabled, and a prime tower is enabled for colour changes. This model has also been printed on an Anycubic Kobra S1. Gallery photos show the existing prints of the model.

Anycubic Slicer Next reports floating regions in this model. Source orientation and support settings have been retained; inspect the layer preview before printing.

Assembly

1. Dry-fit the front section, head back and body back before gluing.

2. We recommend gel CA glue with enough working time to align the pieces. Apply a small amount to the matching joining surfaces.

3. Glue the head back and body back to their matching areas on the front section. Keep glue away from the spring and moving gap.

4. Let the adhesive cure according to its instructions, then gently test the head movement.

Assembly and glue are required.
