Description

Meet the Space X - Low Profile Side Spool Mount

Factory look. Professional engineering. Zero compromises.

This Space X Side Spool Mount designed for the Kobra X was designed to look and feel like a stock-built component. Clean, intentional, and rock solid. It’s the perfect solution for users who want a premium side-mounted spool system without sacrificing print quality, clearance and movement.

Ideal for enclosures and low-height setups, this mount keeps everything out of the way while maintaining the original printer behaviour.

2026-04-15: Update: Now includes bracket for PC4-M6 connectors + Compatible Space X Spool Arms available here

2026-04-19: Added a new print profile for the ACE 2 Pro Overhead Mount by AG_Design

2026-04-20: New tube mount to hold the top spool bracket (If you already printed the older brackets, they’re still usable if you are not experiencing backward tilt)

Spool arms and curved inserts have better tolerance allowing for an easier assembly

2026-04-22: Added Back Legs to support heavier spools and eliminate backward tilting + ACE 2 Pro Hub Relocator with clip on feature

Instructions are also included - See down below

  • Zero obstruction to the print area - Fully tested at maximum Z-axis height with no printing interference.
  • Reuses the original filament spools cylinders! - Features a precise replica of the stock locking mechanism, allowing spools to lock firmly in place just like the top-mounted bracket, stable & vibration-safe.
  • Mounting holes for ACE 2 Pro filament hub
  • Designed for PC4-M10 and PC4-M6 pneumatic fittings for smooth, controlled filament routing.
  • Works as a full replacement for the stock holder or as additional spool storage.
  • No flex, no wobble, this is a serious mount for serious printers.

Important - It's best to use PETG for this model, PLA may be too brittle and can break. Use Print Profile included.

This my own model and is free to print for your own usage, thank you for giving it a thumbs-up

Countless hours are invested in designing print files for free to you, be kind and say thank you with a 5-star review.

Not authorized for remix, resale or commercial use.

Like the Filament Tube Tags you see and the LED light? I designed this tube tag model for the Kobra X

There is also a LED Light colour changer

Instructions: Start from bottom and work your way up

1- Screw in the PC4-M10 or M6 connectors - Use pliers as it's a tight fit - Optionally, glue it on the Top Bracket (super-glue works like a charm)

2- Glue the Spool Locking mechanism in the holes - Highly recommended for spool stability.

4- Install the foot by clipping on the gantry leg

5- Clip in the bottom spool mount in the perfect connect rounded rectangle shape

6- Slide in from the Top Mount through the dovetail connector

7- Slide in the Front bracket through the gantry front hole
